From the very beginning of A.S.Taylor Transport Ltd, we have had our own engineering department that was initially operated for our own fleet. In the early days the work was carried out by Alan Taylor himself who served his indentured apprenticeship with the Burton on Trent branch of BRS.
Over the past 20 years we have developed our engineering department and have offered our services to other fleet operators in the area from 7.5 ton to fridges, vans right through to 80 ton low loaders and pretty much everything in between including tippers, mixers, crane trucks, fork trucks and even car transporters. As our own fleet and our customers have grown we have acquired the skills and equipment to maintain and repair most makes of trucks and ancillary equipment to the very highest standard lay down by the company founder Alan Taylor.
Today sees a whole division of A.S.Taylor Transport as engineering services expand into 3 separate garage facilities. We have a team of time served vehicle engineers who are headed by Alan Taylor's son Jonathan. Jonathan served his apprenticeship with the Burton firm of Elliott Vehicle Services Ltd and at that time won the much coveted accolade of Apprentice of the Year at Burton on Trent technical college. He now has a vast knowledge and a wealth of experience from working on modern trucks with a special understanding of their sophisticated control systems and programs. Jonathan has held on to his father's very high standards and ensures that these are adhered to by his highly skilled team.
We also employ a time served welder and fabricator and can offer a wide range of services in body building and repairs to most types of vehicles, including plating and welding truck and trailer chassis and sub frames.

Our team fully understand the workings of VOSA and the standards laid down by them, so we can offer a full package of vehicle maintenance to help your business keep within legislation and on the right side of the law. To do this we have facilities to carry out steam cleaning, brake testing, headlight alignment and full vehicle inspection pits. It is hoped that a combination of our skills, equipment and facilities will help take the stress out of operating your fleet of heavy goods vehicles.

In addition to this we specialise in cab climate control, both fitting and maintaining cab coolers and air conditioning systems, along with full vehicle diagnostic software for scanning any fault codes that might occur on your vehicles and trailers.
